Virtualization saves taxes for H&R Block
H&R Block started applying virtualization software from EMC Corp. subsidiary VMware Inc according to reports on computerworld.com.
The firm's estimated savings because of this reached $1 million on hardware purchases since rolling out the technology in June 2005. About six years ago, they only had 80 servers. Now they're up to 600 or 700 servers. H&R Block now has about 25% of its data center virtualized, and have completely virtualized its in-house time-sheet application.
